Jacqui Chilcott is from Northumberland and but for a short period, has lived there all her life. Her involvement in art started at school, but she has learned most of her skills by lone experience and application. For many years she ran a pottery studio with her husband and through that met many people who have shared their experience and in some way laid the foundations for her gradual move away from ceramics and into painting. Her work captures the Northumbrian landscape and wildlife which is her favoured subject and the pictures are the result of long observation and study. She uses watercolour with which she can get both fine detail she wants, as well as the bolder washes which are normally associated with that medium. She has exhibited in the Northeast and has won acclaim for her work.
